LUDOPATHY

The ludopathy consists of a disorder in which the person is forced, by a psychologically uncontrollable urge, to play and gamble, persistently and progressively, negatively affecting personal and family life.

SYMPTOMS OF LUDOPATHY

You can not stop:
In addition to money, the gambler is unable to stop stopping on time. It is not about choosing between one and another form of leisure, but about being unable to get up from the table, virtual or real

You play with money that you can not afford to lose.
The key to healthy gambling is to bet only the money you intend to spend in that leisure activity, not to think that you can pay a debt through bets, worse still, not playing with borrowed money or with money saved.

You do not enjoy betting
Thinking about spending money on the game should be the same as doing it at the cinema or at a concert. If the game is an escape route to your life or other problems, if your performance is compulsive and not leisure.

You keep playing to recover the lost.
It is one of the worst options that exist, although it is very easy to make this mistake. One of the signs of a great player is knowing how to get up in time from a game that is not convenient.

You do anything to get money
for the game

The game affects your character.
You can get very nice experiences with the game, even without the need to win. Knowing how to enjoy it improves you inside and out and teaches you to relate, but if you see that you are becoming a worse person, you should recognize this symptom as soon as possible and take action.

The negation.
The biggest difficulty in distinguishing this signal is that a non-gambler will also deny that it is.

You prepend the game to other important things.

CONSEQUENCES OF LUDOPATHY

Emotional problems

The gambler starts to feel bad for all the money lost. Lies to his family to hide his debts and the magnitude of his problem and begins to isolate himself from others. Feelings of sadness, anxiety, depression or irritability appear, which lead them to continue playing.

Family problems

It is possible that in the first moments the family tries to help the person with gambling problems. However, hiding the debts of the addict tends to make the situation worse and ends up driving the family away from the gambler. That’s when the ruptures, separations and divorces appear.

Labor problems

The gambling or academic situation of the gambler is resented when their problems with the game become more acute. The person decreases his performance in work or studies, there is demotivation, unjustified absences, which can lead to the abandonment of work or dismissals.

Economic problems

The debts accumulate as the person can not stop playing. the person turns to friends, relatives, co-workers, lenders or banks to finance their illness, which can lead to serious and even illegal situations.

Legal issues

The desperation to get money can cause individuals with gambling to commit robberies, scams or other criminal activities to get money to play.

Social problems

The person with pathological gambling begins to neglect their friendships and there is a decrease in leisure activities and significant relationships begin to be lost.

Other addictions

In some cases the gambler is related to abuse of tobacco, alcohol and other substances.
